18.3.3 Binding Energy per Nucleon i11

You may already know that the Sun (and the stars) is basically a nuclear reactor where nuclei fuse to form larger and larger nuclei. Starting from hydrogen, we get helium, carbon, oxygen, … until iron. Yup. The production stops at Iron-56. Because fusion beyond iron-56 require energy instead of release energy. So where do the heavy elements come from?
